Although I will admit to going to the bookstore or music store for hours to clear my head. Every once in awhile I need to visit my grandmother and sit on her couch for the same reason. It can get awful lonely inside your head from time to time.

2am maybe your wife did need validation and or attention from her friends on one of the things she feels she is good at. Of course the cakes shouldn't take over ALL of her time or more money than she can afford to spend. But it seems natural to seek affirmation after she put in the work.Cathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04429112740298181455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31278044.post-16316217554090395952007-05-27T09:31:00.000-04:002007-05-27T09:31:00.000-04:00"You Live in Your Head". You are never going to..."You Live in Your Head".

You are never going to figure it all out, so you might as well give up trying and enjoy yourself. The reasoning mind is never fully satisfied: it will keep seeking for things to dwell on like a car radio scanning for stations but never stopping on one. Eventually you will come back to where you started and wonder where you have been.

Holy sh*t! That's me!

Seriously, the "living in your head" is a noted condition of IN types. Not that I'm totally in agreement with the MBTI, but it's true for me, and it's interesting to see it developing with my daughter - much to the dismay of Mrs. Edge who is very E (outgoing and emotionally driven). Like you, I (and my daughter, as I'm discovering) would go to a bookstore to wander around and clear our head. My wife would go have lunch with a friend.

Consider - it's not that your wife needed to have somebody look at the cake (you're not a baker, 2am, what the hell would you know?); it's that she was looking to clear her head by talking to somebody. Not necessarily about the problem, of course, but just to chatter on for a bit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31278044.post-91809163437154748172007-05-27T01:11:00.000-04:002007-05-27T01:11:00.000-04:00I'm not cackling, just smiling fondly. I so want to take you out, get you drunk, make a pass at you and have it mean nothing but friendship in the morning. *smooch*Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
