Of course he is fancier! Now, if they had let my man Gregory do some TAP dancing .... ah, then you'd have seen something! Like for instance, Gregory and Savion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZxfRpL5GVo
Yum! He is more fancy."

I hated that movie, went to it with a pretentious sort-of boyfriend in college, but I loved the dancing and the song "My Love Is Chemical." Now that is a great song.

As for the jobs: I think it would be really good to update your tecnologies. That will give you more flexibility in the marketplace. You've got to fight the fossilization urge.

I wouldn't hold the recruiter against the company, though. My guess is that she wans you to start by the end of the year so she can show for her annual review that she made hiring targets, filled a hard-to-fill spot, etc... She has her own agenda, which if she were honest with you about, you'd probably have some sympathy for (but not enough to change your plans).

The worry here though is getting a concrete enough offer out of the new place in time to let this one go.the Drunken Housewifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14606104534453493304noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31278044.post-49286383135801883052007-12-16T12:25:00.000-05:002007-12-16T12:25:00.000-05:00Decisions, this will be just the first of many tha...Decisions, this will be just the first of many that will present themselves as you move through divorce.

I remember at one time being completely overwhelmed with decisions and finally just turned it all over to God.

That worked well for me :)Have the T-shirthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12144662999404716735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31278044.post-12686332823285764042007-12-16T10:05:00.000-05:002007-12-16T10:05:00.000-05:00So here's my take - I suspect that the recruiter f...So here's my take - I suspect that the recruiter for B&I was either having a bad day and didn't want to deal again with a case file that she thought was a done deal, or that she had some ulterior motive for getting you on board before the end of the year (bonus points that make her look good to her boss?).

In any case, I can't imagine that the manager would have strong feelings about moving the start date for a long-term position. And your point about starting the job before all the background and drug checks are in is a very strong point for moving the start date back.

In the meantime, how fast can Company Line put together an offer and decide on a start date? I would go back to them on Monday and say you are very interested, show me the money. If they can put together a competitive offer in a short time frame, then they win and B&I's recruiter ends up with egg on her face. If not, B&I sounds like a much better option than your current employer.

Hope it all turns out well - an appropriate ending for the year!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31278044.post-76957277012923744592007-12-16T00:47:00.000-05:002007-12-16T00:47:00.000-05:00Congratulations on almost-job-offer number two. Try taking yourself out of the picture and thinking instead about which job you would advise a colleague to take.

Don't worry about burning any bridges with the recruiter -- a better offer is a better offer. Any recruiter worth her salt will understand that, even if she's angry about it with you. So take your feelings about the recruiter out of the equation in your deliberations. Focus on your future and your quality of life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
