She wouldn't have held your hands and looked at you like that if she didn't.

We've all, no matter how sexy we are, been jerked around by members of the opposite sex. I made an ass out of myself over a hunky physics major in college... and then he ate his heart out later when I hooked up with my first husband. Seeing me with my first husband made him realize how attracted he actually was to me. Even those of us who were lucky in love have memories of someone toying with us and getting us worked up to no avail. It's all a part of life...

Plenty of people uglier than you find love and sexual fulfillment. There is nothing wrong with you. Hit me back with an email if you might be free for dinner or a drink or something. (Not flirting here, just in case anyone gets the wrong idea. So, in effect, this is about *her* to some degree.

Bottom line, self esteem is such a fragile thing and it is easy to get mired in past hurts, but what is really important is that you embrace yourself for all the wonderful things you are.

You have recently been through a life changing experience and are just finding your footing. I know there are wonderful things waiting for you ahead, you just have to put your feet on the path and believe. She may not have intended to follow through on what she said, but she was still attracted. Confusion and euphoria seem like perfectly appropriate responses to that situation, by the way, especially for a young and inexperienced man of 22.

(2) Even a sex goddess like me knows that the things you call affirmations are TRUE, for me too, to wit: I'm unique ... I don't think like most, so I won't be compatible with most ... I [may] need to live somewhere else ... I need to be at peace with myself before I can relate to others. I need time to heal from the changes I've been through. All true for me, as well as for you.

Nice post. Now do it again. :D

--Anais, who is not having much luck with the Open ID thing these daysAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
